The last day in Vietnam. In the morning I slept in while my mom and sister went shopping for small gifts to friends and family. I wanted to get some gifts as well, but was too tired, so asked them to do so. Unfortunately they couldn’t find anything, si I’m leaving pretty much empty-handed. While my mom was packing up the stuff, my sister and I caught up on our sleep. We have done many tiring things everyday, we woke up early and slept for only short periods of time. This made us really tired, so we both just kept laying around the house. Before we left, my mom and grandma prepared the s big meal for our family. Since it was the last day, my mom wanted a small gathering with our family before we left.
Everyone sat outside because there wouldn’t be enough space inside. My grandmother’s house is quite small, since she has been living alone for a long while, there is no need for anything big. But the problem was that it was extremely hot outside. After two weeks I can stand quite a lot, but sitting there outside was like hell. It was too hot to function for some reason. There have been hotter days, but this day felt so much worse. Because of the heat, I quickly ate everything and went back inside. Thank the lord for air conditioners.
After dinner I took some more pictures with my family and then it was time to go. My grandma started crying, this broke my heart so I started crying too. Because of her weak back, she couldn’t go with us to the airport. Other family members did go with us. Here they talked with us before we had to leave.
The trip consists out of two 7-hour airplane rides, with a 3/4-hour stop in Dubai. Here the three of us took a nap while waiting to board the plane. Because we checked in pretty late, we’re not sitting next to each other on the second ride. It’s fine thought, because I sat next to two Dutch travellers who were very friendly.
When we arrived in Dusseldorf, we met up with my Dad and uncle who drove us home.
This is the end of my trip to Vietnam. I'm already missing everyone back there and hope to come back soon.
